![]() The 48-volt system is more dangerous than 12 or 24 volts because there are higher demands on the battery to provide power for your lights, radio, and other accessories.įor most systems, I recommend using a 24 or 48-volt battery. Apart from being cheaper and safer to work with because you don’t need big wires it’ll also make wiring up the bike easier since everything has its own wire size.Ī 48-volt battery will be higher than 50 volts at the terminals. Using an inverter with a 2,000-watt rating on your 24- or 48 volts system will be much better. You should stay under 100 Amps in DIY systems, especially if you Crimp the wire yourself. A 2kW model will usually draw around 167 amps which could potentially be too much for some 12V systems and result in burned-out electronics or other damage. To power your home, you need a quality inverter that can handle the amount of energy requested. With a 2,000 watt inverter, we can calculate that the current through our 12 volts wire will be around 24 volts and 48-volt versions. If there are only 2V across each individual cell however and not much more than half that amount at best we’ll need another way besides doubling up on batteries. If you want to increase your power output, then just keep increasing this until it reaches 12 volts for each cell in a battery pack or system that houses multiple cells together Voltage is the measure of electric current. The following image illustrations show how you can have a lower amp charge controller for the same PV input power if your battery voltage is increased. With a 48-volt battery system, you can go even more: We use an 80 amp charge controller to keep the voltage under control and maintain a safe operating temperature for your home’s electrical system. With 24 volts of battery power, our solar panels now produce 1920 watts. Charge controllerĪ single charge controller can safely handle up to 80 amps of power, which equals 960 watts in the case where you are using a 12-volt system. We will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of these systems for different components. It’s essential to know the consequences of choosing a specific voltage for your system. ![]() We’ll start with an overview of what each voltage does and then move on to more complicated examples that require detailed knowledge about electricity. System voltages can be intimidating, but they’re not as difficult to understand when you break them down into their individual parts. Well now that you know how many devices we need to install in order for your system to run smoothly, let us take a look at what size installation will work best. ![]() For superior products that enhance effectiveness and safety, call Murphy Industrial Products, Inc. ![]() However, sea studies revealed significantly less reports of a decrement in performance or drowsiness due to prevention of sea sickness. Prolonged or repeated application may cause some impairment of memory storage for new information. Performance is not affected by short-term use. TTS-S produced only about half the incidence of drowsiness caused by oral dimenhydrinate or cinnarizine, and a level of adverse effects similar to that found with oral meclizine. Adverse effects were not correlated with plasma scopolamine concentrations. Adverse CNS effects, including toxic psychosis (mainly in elderly and paediatric patients), have been reported only occasionally, as have difficulty in urinating, headache, rashes and erythema. Low-dose pyridostigmine was found effective in preventing cycloplegia but not mydriasis. ![]() ![]() Transient impairment of ocular accommodation has also been observed, in some cases possibly the result of finger-to-eye contamination. Dry mouth occurs in about 50-60% of subjects, drowsiness in up to 20%, and allergic contact dermatitis in 10%. The adverse effects produced by TTS-S, although less frequent, are qualitatively typical of those reported for the oral and parenteral formulations of this agent. Despite previous evidence to the contrary, a recent bioavailability study demonstrated similar intraindividual absorption and sustained clinical efficacy with long-term use of the drug. TTS-S was most effective against motion sickness 8-12 hours after application. The addition of ephedrine or the use of two patches did not improve its efficacy, but rather increased the rate of adverse effects. It was more effective than oral meclizine or cinnarizine, similar to oral scopolamine 0.6 mg or promethazine plus ephedrine, and the same as or superior to dimenhydrinate. TTS-S has proved to be significantly superior to placebo in reducing the incidence and severity of motion sickness by 60-80%. A combination of transdermal and oral scopolamine (0.3 or 0.6 mg) was effective and well tolerated in producing desired plasma concentrations 1-hour post-treatment. Overall, the product appears to be the approximate functional equivalent of a 72-hour slow intravenous infusion. These findings may explain some of the treatment failures. Yet 20-30% of subjects failed to attain the estimated protective concentration, and plasma concentrations measured in subjects who failed to respond to TTS-S were lower than in responders. TTS-S attains that concentration after 6 hours a steady state of about 100 pg/mL is achieved 8-12 hours after application. The protective plasma concentration of scopolamine is estimated to be 50 pg/mL. The remainder is released at a constant rate of approximately 5 microg/hour. A priming dose (140 microg) is incorporated into the adhesive layer to saturate certain binding sites within the skin and to accelerate the achievement of steady-state blood levels. The plaster contains a reservoir of 1.5 mg of scopolamine programmed to deliver 0.5 mg over a 3-day period. A transdermal therapeutic system for scopolamine (TTS-S) was developed to counter the adverse effects and short duration of action that has restricted the usefulness of scopolamine when administered orally or parenterally. It originated in Spain in the 1700's, at that time Heart was called Reversis. The card game, Hearts, has evolved over the years. Whichever player has the LEAST amount of points wins! When a player reaches 100 points, the game will end. ![]() Each round of Hearts will end when players have completed their hands. This means a player must play a heart while another suit is being played. A leading trick player is not able to start with a heart unless they only have hearts in their hand or until the hearts have been "broken". The player who takes the trick will become the leader of the next trick. The points accumulated by any penalties and the trick are given to the player of the highest card in the suit that was originally put into play. Among the cards they may choose to discard or "slough" is a penalty Heart or the Queen of Spades. If they do not have a card that is the same suit as the lead card then Heart players can play any card that they have. Subsequent players are to play a card that is the same suit as the lead card. Hearts Card Game is played in a clockwise order. After they have done so the other Heart players will play a card from their hands. Start playing Hearts with the card player with the 2 of clubs starting off the first trick. Enter ENIGMA, a band that creates music that sounds like what Jobs and Gates might have dreamt up if they'd dropped out of college to engineer death metal masterpieces. Enigma also influenced others, most notably Deep Forest whose eponymous debut was definitely cut from the same musical cloth.Despite all the booming technology the San Francisco Bay Area boasts, few prominent technical death metal acts have yet to claim their own in the region. It introduced New Age music to the mainstream, but at the same time, it relied on the heritage of artists including Tangerine Dream and Jean-Michel Jarre. In 2008, Seven Lives Many Faces became the band’s seventh album.Įvery now and then an album or an artist seems to come out of nowhere and take the music world by storm – Enigma is one such artist and their debut album, despite its influences was a genuinely unique and inspired creation. With astronomy, physics, history, and sociology as its themes, this is an album that is well worth exploring. For the project’s sixth album, 2006’s A Posteriori, there is a definite move towards techno and pop-oriented electronic music. Fans were left underwhelmed by the change, but there needed to be a move away as the old formula had run its course. In 2003, Voyageur marked a significant shift in Enigma’s sound, no Gregorian chants and other world music overtones. The following year, Love Sensuality Devotion: The Greatest Hits and Love Sensuality Devotion: The Remix Collection brought to an end what Cretu considers the first chapter of the Enigma project. This time Cretu used classical music as his inspiration, taking samples from Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana to be used on four tracks on the album. There was the Gregorian chant as well as Sanskrit and Vedic chants all crafted into the familiar Enigma sound, but the album failed to arouse the interest garnered by the first two releases.įor 2000’s release, The Screen Behind the Mirror, Ruth-Ann Boyle (from the band Olive) and Andru Donalds make their first appearances on an Enigma record. This album developed the sound of Enigma with World music sounds and while not as successful commercially is a very satisfying recording. He felt unable to do the whole thing, given his commitments to a second Enigma record. ![]() In retrospect this helped the marketing of the album, adding to the mystery.Įnigma’s second album, The Cross of Changes, came along in 1993 and includes the single, ‘Carly’s Song’ (“Age of Loneliness”) that was also featured in the movie Silver, which Cretu had been asked to compose the soundtrack to. Real names were shunned and Cretu credited himself as Curly M.C initially, people were unsure whether it was a band, a person or quite what it was. The riddle of Enigma was fueled by the fact that Cretu was shy in revealing almost any information on the album, it’s said because he was unsure of its potential. According to Cretu, the album was about, “unsolved crimes and philosophical themes such as life after death, hence the name Enigma.” It became Virgin’s most successful worldwide album and its success was helped by the single, ‘Sadeness (Part I),’ which included Gregorian chants and pseudo-sexual sounds all arranged over a dance beat – impossible to pigeonhole, but almost impossible to resist. Studios in Ibiza, Spain, where he both wrote and produced the album. Enigma’s debut went on to top the charts in over 40 countries, went multi-platinum and seemed to spawn an industry of offbeat dance trance, with world music overtones.Ĭretu had spent eight months working on MCMXC a.D. (the roman numeral from 1990), at his studio A.R.T. Yet the man behind Enigma, Romanian-born Michael Cretu, had released a number of albums under his own name, although none had really had any impact. They seemed to come out of nowhere in December 1990 when their debut album, MCMXC a.D., was released. For many people, Enigma are something of an enigma.
